Refund and Cancellation Policies

Packraft Rocky has crafted a strict cancellation policy and must adhere to all of the policies below. As a small company that offers personalized services, we attempt to accommodate changes when necessary and believe our policies give you the flexibility to take on big backcountry ambitions in times of uncertainty.

We reserve the right to cancel a rental for any reason and if we cancel your rental, we will fully refund the rental payment. If we must cancel a rental due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to public land closures, border closures, civil unrest, public health emergencies and natural disasters, a credit toward a future rental in equal amount to the rental payment will be issued but we cannot refund the payment.

Packraft Rocky is not responsible for additional expenses incurred due to cancellations and we highly recommend purchasing trip insurance to protect your travel investment. All of our multi-day and single day trips may be purchased through our website but are led by our sister company, Rewilding Expeditions, and must adhere to Rewilding Expeditions’ terms, conditions and policies. Please read their Terms and Conditions prior to booking your trip.

Multi-Day Rental Refund Policy
If you cancel a multi-day rental for any reason:

• You will not receive a refund or rental credit.

If you cancel a single day rental for any reason:

• You will not receive a refund or rental credit.

Rental Credit Policy

• All multi-day and single day rental credits must be used within one year of the original rental pick up date.

Covid-19 Refund Policy

Multi-Day and Single Day Rentals
If you have the COVID-19 illness, are experiencing symptoms or have had an exposure:

30 Days or less prior to the rental pick up date, you are not eligible to use our rental equipment and will be offered a credit toward a future rental in equal amount to your payment, but we cannot refund the payment.

Participation Policy

Conditions and Participant Responsibility
Packraft Rocky screen applicants to ensure participants are given rental equipment that best fits their experience, fitness level and expectations. Packraft Rocky reserve the right to accept, decline or refuse service to any individual at any time. 

Packraft Rocky make every effort to uphold the scheduled rental times but we do not guarantee that you will complete your planned itinerary. Weather, route conditions, natural hazards, emergency situations or participant abilities may create circumstances that make the planned itinerary unsafe, making it difficult for you or your entire group to complete your planned itinerary in time to return your rental equipment without fees. Failure to complete the scheduled itinerary due to a participant’s own lack of fitness or for any of the events associated with wilderness expeditions (such as weather, route conditions, natural hazards, etc.), are not the responsibility of Packraft Rocky and will not result in refund or reschedule, with liability for any increased costs incurred by the rental participant.

Participants agree to follow all Leave No trace practices during the their trip and adhere to our strict cleaning guidelines and use limitations. Participants are prohibited from using drugs and alcohol while using our rental equipment. If Packraft Rocky staff or volunteers take photographs or videos of participants, participants give consent for those photographs or videos to be used by Packraft Rocky for marketing and any other purposes and in any media.

Participants are responsible for their own well-being, their health and physical conditions, pre-departure planning and any incurred expense due to delay or trip cancellation. We highly recommend that all participants consider travel and trip cancellation insurance after purchasing a rental package. Travel insurance offers the best protection in the event of a sudden, unexpected illness, an injury prior to or while traveling, or a possible family emergency. If you choose not to purchase insurance, you assume full responsibility for any expenses incurred in the event of a medical emergency and/or evacuation, as well as for trip cancellation, interruption, lost luggage, etc. Packraft Rocky does not insure you against these risks. We ask that you consult your travel insurance carrier directly with questions.

Risk Waiver, Health Form and Emergency Contact Policy

Packraft Rocky is committed to the safety of our participants and guides. Due to the inherently dangerous nature of outdoor recreation activities in the backcountry, all participants must sign a Rental Waiver for rental equipment and a Visitor’s Acknowledgement of Risks form (through our partner, Rewilding Expeditions) for guided trips. All participants under the age of 18 must have a Rental Waiver and/or Visitor’s Acknowledgement of Risks form signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Additionally, health history and fitness information must be submitted during checkout for each participant using our rental equipment or on guided trips with our partners. The failure to disclose pertinent information in the heath history and fitness information section during checkout could result in serious harm, even death, to the signing participant, other guests and/or the guide. All information submitted is completely confidential; it is for our use in emergency situations and would only be shared in the event of an emergency with medical and/or rescue personnel directly caring for the participant. It is Packraft Rocky policy that all emergency contacts be a person over the age of 18 and not participating in the same rental use or guided trip. The Risk Waiver (for rental equipment) and Risk Form (for guided trips) can be found in the Home tab dropdown menu. Health information may be obtained during checkout process.

Preparedness Policy

Packraft Rocky is happy to assist in every step of preparation for your adventure. We ask that participants come ready for the activity they’re participating in when their rental equipment pick up date or trip start date arrives. Please make sure that all personal equipment needed for your rental or guided activity is in working condition when you arrive. If you will require rental equipment other than our own, we can recommend rental shops that may be able to meet your needs. Please coordinate with us ahead of time if you need help finding a rental shop for other gear needs. We are not partnered with other rental shops and their gear is not included in the price of our rental equipment or trips. Their gear may require a separate liability waiver.
